1. UNIDROIT 2027 Research Scholarship

Opportunity	Research scholarship at the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law (UNIDROIT), Rome, Italy.
Deadline	4 September 2026
Who is eligible?	Outstanding postgraduate/doctoral law students, lawyers, academics, and government officials from around the world. The research must relate to a UNIDROIT work area, instrument, or current project.
What it offers	A limited number of funded scholarships of €1,500 per month for two months of in-person research at UNIDROIT Headquarters; exceptionally, three months may be approved. Unsuccessful funded applicants may be considered for an unfunded research stay.
Priority themes	Law and technology, digital assets and private law, capital markets, transnational civil procedure, commercial contracts, agricultural development, cultural property, sustainable development, and access to credit.
Application requirements	Online application with CV, cover letter, research proposal, and supporting reference letters combined into one PDF/Word document. Applications are assessed on the candidate’s CV, proposal, language proficiency, and value of the research to UNIDROIT.

2. SAL Africa 2026–2027 LL.M. Pathway

Opportunity	Programme of the School of American Law in Africa with Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology, USA.
Deadline	14 September 2026
Who is eligible?	Practising lawyers, attorneys, judges, prosecutors, holders of LL.B./LL.M./PhD law degrees, fourth- and fifth-year law students, and eligible non-law professionals from African countries. Applicants must have intermediate-level English or above.
What it offers	Mandatory online Pre-LL.M. stage from October 2026 to January 2027, followed by an optional nine-month on-campus LL.M. in Chicago. SAL states that successful participants receive a 70% tuition waiver for the LL.M., no TOEFL/IELTS requirement, and support with the US student-visa process, subject to admission and applicable requirements.
Study areas	Trial Advocacy; Global Business and Financial Law; International Intellectual Property Law; Legal Innovation and Technology; and U.S., International and Transnational Law. Non-law applicants have a narrower set of eligible LL.M. tracks.
Application requirements	CV, one-page cover letter in English, and a diploma or academic transcript. Names must match the foreign passport. Documents may be submitted as PDFs, with diploma copies also accepted in JPEG, through the application form or by email.
Costs	SAL lists Pre-LL.M. tuition at $2,900 and the optional LL.M. tuition at $14,000, payable when studies in the USA commence. Applicants should review the official page for current fees and conditions.

3. ITLOS Internship Programme — April to June 2027

Opportunity	Three-month internship with the Registry of the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea in Hamburg, Germany.
Deadline	30 September 2026 for the April–June 2027 period. Applications for later periods may also be submitted.
Who is eligible?	Students and recent graduates in law, international relations, public relations, political science, library science, or translation. Applicants should have completed at least three years of university study, normally be enrolled in a degree or postgraduate course or be recent graduates, normally be no more than 32, have good English and/or French, and show an interest in international law, especially the law of the sea.
What interns do	Work under Registry officials on matters connected with the Tribunal, including the law of the sea, public international law, international organisations, international relations, public information, library science, or translation.
Application requirements	Review the official application procedure and FAQs, prepare evidence of studies or graduation, demonstrate language ability, and explain the connection between your background and the Tribunal’s work.

4. ICC Internship — Immediate Office of the Registrar

Opportunity	Six-month, full-time internship with the Immediate Office of the Registrar at the International Criminal Court, The Hague.
Deadline	26 August 2026 at midnight The Hague time
Who is eligible?	Applicants with a degree or in the final stages of studies at a recognised university in law, political science, management, journalism/public information, or a related field. Candidates should have a very good academic record and less than three years of relevant full-time professional experience.
What interns do	Conduct background research; draft minutes, letters, speaking points, speeches, legal and policy memoranda, reports, and analyses; assist with intranet content; and support the Registrar’s strategic and policy work.
Application requirements	Completed Duties and Responsibilities Form, motivation letter of up to 400 words, two reference letters including one academic reference, university degrees/diplomas, official transcripts, and a typed essay of up to 750 words on a subject relevant to the Court. English or French proficiency is required; the other working language is an asset.
Funding and location	The internship is full-time in The Hague and unfunded; applicants must support themselves for the duration. The ICC encourages nationals of under- or non-represented countries to apply.

5. ICC Internship — Legal Office

Opportunity	Six-month, full-time internship with the Legal Office of the ICC Registry, The Hague.
Deadline	31 December 2026 at midnight The Hague time
Who is eligible?	Applicants with a university degree in law, a very good academic record, sound knowledge of public international law, international criminal law, contract law, or international administrative law, and less than three years of relevant full-time professional experience. English or French proficiency is required; the other language and other ICC official languages are assets.
What interns do	Conduct legal research and analysis; assist with legal submissions, correspondence, memoranda, opinions, and briefs; monitor judicial proceedings; help with contracts and legal advice; and support legal workflows, systems, databases, and repositories.
Application requirements	Duties and Responsibilities Form, motivation letter of up to 400 words, two references including one academic reference, degrees/diplomas, official transcripts, and a typed essay of up to 750 words on a subject relevant to the Court. Excellent research, analytical, drafting, teamwork, and computer skills are expected.
Funding and location	The internship is in The Hague and unfunded; applicants must cover their own costs. The ICC encourages applications from under- or non-represented countries.
