A technology expert has said NITDA’s Software Quality Assurance Framework could help build a globally competitive software-testing industry in Nigeria.
NAN reported that the framework is intended to improve the quality, security, reliability, and performance of software developed or deployed for public-sector use. Government software is expected to undergo independent quality testing before deployment by the second quarter of 2027.
The expert said implementation should include clear accreditation, proportionate risk standards, independent testing, and capacity-building for smaller Nigerian firms. The goal, he argued, should be better public services rather than certificates alone.
