As preparations intensify for the 2026 Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Kano Branch elections, Secretary aspirant S. M. Maisamari, ACArb., has reaffirmed his commitment to presenting a transformative agenda for the Branch at the forthcoming Candidates’ Dialogue and Leadership Vision Presentation organized by the Electoral Committee (ELCOM).
Maisamari confirmed that he has formally received an invitation from the Electoral Committee to participate in the interactive engagement, which is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 17 June 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at the NBA Secretariat, 3 Guda Abdullahi Road, Kano.
The Candidates’ Dialogue is regarded as one of the most significant events preceding the NBA Kano Branch elections, providing members of the Association with an opportunity to engage aspiring officers, assess their leadership capabilities, and scrutinize their policy proposals for the future of the Branch.
Speaking ahead of the event, Maisamari assured members of the Branch that he would be present to articulate his vision for the office of Secretary and to engage openly with members of the legal community.
According to him, his aspiration is driven by a commitment to building a Secretariat that is efficient, transparent, and technology-driven. His proposed agenda focuses on modernizing administrative processes, leveraging digital technology to improve service delivery to members, strengthening institutional communication, and ensuring accurate and transparent record management.
“This dialogue presents an invaluable opportunity to engage directly with members of our Branch, listen to their expectations, and present practical solutions that will strengthen the administration of our Association,” he stated.
Maisamari further emphasized that meaningful progress within the NBA Kano Branch can only be achieved through collective leadership, mutual respect, and active participation by all members of the Bar.
He acknowledged the invaluable contributions of senior members, past Branch leaders, and mentors whose guidance has continued to shape the Association, while also recognizing the vital role of young lawyers in driving innovation and institutional growth.
Calling on members of the NBA Kano Branch to participate actively in the dialogue, the Secretary aspirant described the event as an opportunity to collectively chart a progressive course for the future of the Branch.
“I look forward to sharing my vision with our distinguished seniors, learned silks, respected colleagues, and the vibrant young members of our Branch. Together, we can build a Secretariat that is more responsive, accountable, technologically advanced, and truly reflective of the aspirations of every member,” he said.
The ELCOM Candidates’ Dialogue is expected to attract broad participation from members of the NBA Kano Branch and will provide a platform for candidates to present their manifestos, answer questions, and demonstrate their readiness to serve.
As the countdown to the elections continues, members of the Branch are expected to use the dialogue to evaluate candidates based on competence, vision, integrity, and their capacity to advance the ideals of the Nigerian Bar Association.
