The Council of Legal Education has released an August 2026 list of 122 universities approved to admit students into Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) programmes in Nigeria.
The Council warned prospective students, parents, and guardians to confirm accreditation before enrolling. It stated that students admitted into unapproved Law programmes would not be eligible for admission into the Nigerian Law School.
The notice also identifies institutions operating under moratoria on new admissions for specified academic sessions. The Council said the list is intended to guide the public and may be updated in line with its statutory responsibilities.
Prospective students should therefore verify the current status of a programme directly with the Council of Legal Education and the university before paying fees or accepting admission.
