The Niger Delta Youth Network has inaugurated a Project Monitoring and Accountability Committee to track infrastructure delivery and promote transparency in the region.
NAN reported that the group urged contractors handling several strategic roads to return to their sites within 14 days. The network said it created the committee in response to abandoned or slow-moving projects despite public funding.
The initiative reflects a wider governance question: whether citizens can access project budgets, milestones, completion dates, and responsible agencies well enough to monitor delivery. Public documentation and regular reporting will be important to the committee’s credibility.
