Lagos Commissioner of Police Fatai Tijani has called for stronger cooperation between the police and residents to address crime and security concerns, particularly in Ikorodu.
At a town hall reported by NAN, Tijani urged community leaders, parents, young people, and residents to share credible information while police personnel maintain professionalism, respect residents’ rights, and respond to community concerns.
The Ayangburen of Ikorodu also warned against sharing unverified information. Effective community policing therefore depends on both timely reporting and trust: residents must be heard, while security agencies must act lawfully and communicate responsibly.
