The Nigerian Correctional Service has reported zero prison breaks nationwide between January and June 2026 and an attempt to smuggle an improvised explosive device into a custodial centre in Ikot Ekpene.
At a joint security briefing reported by NAN, the NCoS also cited intelligence-led searches and the recovery of contraband items. The Nigeria Immigration Service reported repatriations and trafficking rescues, while the NSCDC reported arrests, an illegal arms factory, and cases involving protection of critical infrastructure.
